Chicken and Barley Soup

Here's a recipe for chicken and barley soup that I wrote down a while ago:

chopped onion
chicken broth
quick cook barley
chili powder
frozen mixed vegetables
shredded chicken
cilantro
canned tomatoes

I omitted the measures, as you can play with the amounts to your taste. I love everything in it except the canned tomatoes. I do a lot of cooking like this (I call it muck), and you can add all sorts of spices, salads and even other soups to the mix. As long as you like everything in it, it will come out fine.
